SATURDAY 2 SEPTEMBER, 7.00PM
ORPHEUS UNSUNG

Steven Mackey electric guitar

Structured in three acts, Orpheus Unsung is an orchestral conception of the electric guitar, where the virtuosity lies not only in the finger play but also in the footwork on the pedals. The narrative traces the myth of Orpheus, as he embarks on a perilous journey to save Eurydice, his true love, from the underworld. The piece is structured in three acts that delineate the three phases of the journey – above ground, traveling in the underworld, and the return to the surface and the land of the living. This performance is presented by Melbourne Recital Centre and the MCM New Music Studio.

Where: Salon, Melbourne Recital Centre, Southbank Boulevard, Southbank
Admission: Full $30 / Concession $25 / Tickets via melbournerecital.com.au
